BG Robert Tripp, '33, the oldest living graduate turned 102 on October 19, and was presented with gifts from the West Point Society of San Francisco Bay Area, and West Point Association of Graduates, and a Certificate of Congratulations.
Nina Leslie recently attended the 2013 West Point Alumni Leaders Conference, representing the West Point Society of the San Francisco Bay Area. Here are some interesting notes she had from the conference.

The AOG will be putting out a “Register of Graduates” in 2015. There is a major effort to get graduates to update their information NOW in preparation for the new Register.
It’s a $350m Campaign – to date $309.3m has been received in cash or pledges. Learn more here.
The Campaign will allocate the donations as follows:
$200m For the Cadets
$70m For the Landmark (West Point)
$40m For Today, Unrestricted
$20m For the Nation
$20m For the Long Gray Line

Recently, Bill Schwartz ’59 approached the Board of the West Point Society to help out Jose Quintero, a young man attending Oakland Charter School, who had an appointment to West Point, Class ’17. The student needed to be at West Point with boots and shoes, that he didn’t have, and he needed help with expenses incurred in getting to West Point. The Board paid for his shoes and boots, and gave him $100 for traveling expenses. We received a nice thank you letter from him thanking the Society for helping him out.

From time to time we are notified of opportunities for networking luncheons, and opportunities for groups to discuss business needs and share ideas. We hesitate to send out notices for these meetings. We do not want to use our e-mailing list for someone’s business/marketing purposes, yet we don’t want you to miss an opportunity you might be interested in. When appropriate, these opportunities will be posted on our new website (there is one posted now) - reach out to Jim Wilson at james.a.wilson1@gmail.com. However, if you are interested in receiving these networking e-mails, Nina Leslie will be forming a new e-mailing list specifically for this purpose.
