West Point Society of Silicon Valley – Recognizing Exemplary Service Luncheon

Faultline Brewing Company
1235 Oakmead Pkwy, Sunnyvale, CA 94085

On Friday, August 30, the West Point Society of Silicon Valley invites you to our luncheon where we will recognize exemplary service.  The luncheon will take place at the Faultline Brewing Company, 1235 Oakmead Pkwy  Sunnyvale, CA 94085 and will begin at 11:30.  During our luncheon, Bill Cooper will lead a discussion on three examples of service to nation and community.

George Cooper

George Cooper has had a long and interesting flying, engineering, and wine making career.  During WW II, he shot down 4 German planes. After leaving the Army he became a test pilot at NASA, testing a variety of cutting edge planes. Currently, Mr. Cooper owns and runs Cooper-Garrod Estate Vineyards, a vineyard in the Saratoga, CA.

Bill Cooper

Bill Cooper served in the Vietnam War and later brought his young family back to the ranch on which he grew up. Mr. Cooper apprenticed to his dad, took courses at University of California, Davis, and became immersed in winemaking and sustainability.  Today at the Cooper-Garrod Estate Vineyards, he does everything from punching down the cap during crush to fine-tuning computer systems.

Cooper-Garrod Estate Vineyards

Only 25 minutes from Palo Alto or San Jose or 50 minutes from San Francisco, Cooper-Garrod is a family owned and operated 28-acre estate vineyard and winery specializing in the Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Viognier varietals and their own Bordeaux-style blend, R.V.'s Fine Claret.  Here they serve great wine.  Along with award-winning wines, Gooper-Garrod offers horseback riding, picnic and special event facilities in addition to wine tasting.
