West Point Society of San Francisco Bay Area Donates $500 to Cause USA

Tom and Rose Ramos and John and Nell McBeth, both Class ’69, and 2 classmates from back east, left from the Presidio to ride their bikes across country to their 45th West Point Reunion at West Point.  They are hoping people will sponsor their ride by donating to “Cause USA”, a 501 (c)(3) organization that supports America’s wounded soldiers.  The organization was founded by 4 West Point grads, from the Class ’67.

Grad needs sabers for his wedding!

A 2009 Grad is getting married at Carmel Mission on August 30. The Father is an O-8 class of '79 and he asked Ward Rotter to help find sabres for the arch as the couple exits the church.   Ward has contacted Chaplains and POA at both DLI and NPS and they have no sabres.  If you have a saber you can lend, please contact Ward at wardsf2003@yahoo.com or 415-596-755.

2014 Founders Day a Success!

Thank you to those who made it out to the 2014 Founders Day celebration hosted by the West Point Society of the San Francisco Bay Area at the Claremont Country Club in Oakland, CA on Saturday 3/22.

We had a full house to listen to LTG Robert Caslen give the keynote, along with remarks from COL (R) John Begley, '50 (oldest grad) and Ben Boyd, '06 (youngest grad).  We also had special guests BG (R) Robert Tripp, '33 and his wife Liliane (oldest living West Point graduate), Robert McClure, '76 President of West Point AOG, and Alison Levine, author of On the Edge.

Many thanks to Nina Leslie for her hard work in pulling off another fantastic event.
